Charlotte man sues CMPD over viral 2023 Bojangles arrest
Anthony Lee and Christina Pierre filed a federal lawsuit against the Charlotte-Mecklenburg Police Department, alleging unlawful arrest and excessive force during a November 2023 incident outside a Bojangles. The lawsuit claims officers arrested them for smoking marijuana, but Lee asserts the substance was legal hemp, and video of the arrest showed an officer striking Pierre multiple times.
