UN human rights chief says Israel must end occupation and house demolitions in Lebanon
UN human rights chief Volker Türk urged Israel to end its occupation of southern Lebanon and halt home demolitions, citing potential war crimes. The call comes ahead of talks between Lebanese and Israeli officials in Rome to implement a June 26 framework deal for troop withdrawal and Hezbollah disarmament, which the militant group has rejected. The conflict, ongoing since March 2, has caused over 4,000 deaths and displaced 1.2 million people.
