Centre yet again rules out Metro Rail for Coimbatore and Madurai; recommends BRTS
The Centre has once again rejected Metro Rail projects for Coimbatore and Madurai, advising instead to prioritize strengthening the bus system. The Ministry stated that a Metro Rail would not significantly reduce travel time in these cities.
