Brazil’s government says it is working with Peru to protect border Indigenous lands

Brazil’s Ministry of Indigenous Peoples and Peru’s Ministry of Culture signed a memorandum of understanding to protect Indigenous territories along their shared border, particularly those of the Ashaninka people. The agreement follows an armed invasion of Ashaninka land by five armed men and aims to coordinate efforts against illegal activities and threats like drug trafficking.
