Not Everyone at ICE Went Along With Trump’s Order to Reinstate Vehicle Stops

U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) initially halted vehicle stops following two fatal shootings by officers in Texas and Maine, but President Donald Trump ordered their resumption. However, ICE officials in at least four regional jurisdictions did not comply, citing adherence to internal policy over Trump's directive. A new agencywide email later reinstated vehicle stops with updated guidelines.
