Belmont University’s medical school has been placed on probation. Here’s why

Belmont University’s Thomas F. Frist, Jr. College of Medicine has been placed on probation by the Liaison Committee on Medical Education (LCME) due to non-compliance with certain accreditation standards. The school must address three areas: student resources and responsiveness, governance and institutional oversight, and academic experience and learning environment. Belmont has implemented corrective measures, including new advising structures and leadership roles, with a 2028 site visit as the earliest opportunity to resolve probation.
