UN assembly approves four-year extension in mandate of rights chief
The UN General Assembly approved a four-year extension for U.N. Human Rights chief Volker Turk despite opposition from Russia, Israel, and the United States. A large majority rejected a Russian counter-proposal to extend his term until the end of 2026.
