Fundraiser to buy land near Big Bear’s famous bald eagle nest surpasses goal

Environmental organizations surpassed a $10 million fundraising goal to preserve nearly 63 acres near Big Bear’s bald eagle nest, preventing a housing project. The Friends of Big Bear Valley, supported by a $5.5 million donation from Anna and Greg Brockman (co-founder of OpenAI), will buy the land to protect wildlife and rare plants.
