Chris Affleck, mother of Ben and Casey Affleck, dies after pancreatic cancer diagnosis

Chris Affleck, mother of Oscar-winning actors Ben and Casey Affleck, died at 83 after a six-month battle with pancreatic cancer. She was a civil rights advocate, part of the 1960s Freedom Riders, and a public school teacher for 35 years. Her death occurred on June 2, two days after one of her grandchildren graduated from high school.
