Ugandan Farmers Sue in UK Court to Halt $5.6 Billion Oil Pipeline

Four Ugandan smallholder farmers are suing in a UK court to block the $5.6 billion East African Crude Oil Pipeline (EACOP), a 1,443-kilometre heated pipeline. The case is supported by over 40,000 crowdfunding contributors through Avaaz, with EACOP Ltd—the project's special-purpose company incorporated in England and Wales—named as the defendant.
