German top court says Afghan admission pledges cannot be revoked en masse

Germany's Federal Constitutional Court ruled that the Interior Ministry's blanket cancellation of 640 admission pledges for Afghans under the 'human rights list' scheme was arbitrary and must be reviewed individually. The court supported an Afghan mother and her two minor sons, who had been promised admission in 2021 but faced revocation in December 2025.
