Pentagon expands blacklist to include China’s top civilian universities

The Pentagon added Fudan University and Shanghai Jiao Tong University to a list of 88 mainland Chinese institutions, restricting US Department of Defence-funded researchers from collaborating with them or using their equipment starting in the 2026 financial year. The move expands a research-security crackdown targeting foreign entities deemed threats to US national security.
