Fundamental Data rep says company wrote WV data center law, urges project guardrails in his own town

Ted McGavran, an engineer with Fundamental Data, urged Belmont, North Carolina, to adopt noise ordinances for data centers while acknowledging his company helped draft West Virginia's HB 2014, which prohibits local regulations on data center developments in that state. The law enables Fundamental Data to build a 10,000-acre complex in West Virginia with data centers, a natural gas power plant, and diesel generators without local oversight.
