Elon Musk stated during Tesla's earnings call that building Optimus, a humanoid robot, will be the hardest product to manufacture at scale in Tesla's history due to its complexity, lack of existing supply chains, and challenges in dexterity, reliability, and AI integration. Tesla must develop components in-house and solve technical hurdles to achieve mass production.
