Brazil Navy Ex-Chief Gets 24 Years for 2022 Coup Plot
Admiral Almir Garnier, Brazil’s former navy chief, received a 24-year sentence for his role in the January 8 coup plot. He is the only armed-forces commander jailed for the plot and plans to appeal in 2026.
