Hong Kong gears up for city’s first test run of fully driverless vehicles

Hong Kong has approved its first trial for fully driverless autonomous vehicles, to be tested on Airport Island without a backup driver. The Transport Department expanded the pilot license for autonomous vehicle trials in North Lantau after confirming earlier remote-operation tests met safety requirements.
