Suspect arrested in El Monte stabbing that killed 15-year-old high school football player

A suspect was arrested and charged with murder in the stabbing death of a 15-year-old high school football player in El Monte. The Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Department identified the suspect as Jonathan Castelan, 18, of South El Monte, with the incident occurring on July 10 near Fern Street.
