After more than a decade of community resistance, a South LA oil drilling site could be shut down

A South Los Angeles oil drilling site near the Jefferson Park neighborhood could be shut down after over a decade of community resistance. The Venturas, residents near the Murphy Drill Site, attribute health issues including cancer to pollution from the site, and a nonprofit group has led efforts to revoke the operator's license.
