GOP leaders in N.J. pounce on voter registration glitch, blame Democrats
Republican state Sen. Joseph Pennacchio is requesting a U.S. Department of Justice investigation into a New Jersey Motor Vehicle Commission voter registration system glitch that improperly registered 6,600 noncitizens and led to 400 illegal ballots in 2023. Gov. Mikie Sherrill announced the issue and initiated an investigation, which Pennacchio criticized for lacking transparency.
