Guadalajara residents receiving contaminated water will get an 80% discount on their bills
Guadalajara residents affected by contaminated water will receive an 80% discount on their water bills until December 15, covering up to 750,000 beneficiaries in 600 neighborhoods. The Jalisco state Congress approved the measure after a petition by Councilman José María Martínez, with the Human Rights Commission identifying affected areas based on 2026 complaints. Governor Pablo Lemus Navarro also announced a 100 million peso investment in portable water treatment plants.
