DOT starts work on Fordham Road project to boost speeds on Bronx’s busiest bus corridor

The city Department of Transportation began construction on Fordham Road in the Bronx to add offset bus lanes, aiming to improve speeds for the borough's busiest bus corridor. The project, revived by Mayor Zohran Mamdani after being halted by former Mayor Eric Adams, seeks to address chronic delays caused by curbside bus lanes and improve safety for 130,000 daily riders on four bus lines.
