NXIVM cult leader sues Bureau of Prisons over winter blackout

Keith Raniere, founder of NXIVM, sued the Bureau of Prisons over a 2019 power outage at a Brooklyn jail that left detainees in freezing conditions. He claims the outage caused physical injuries and worsened existing health issues. The Bureau denied his claim after a $10 million class-action settlement was reached in 2023.
