National Guard is deployed as flash floods in West Virginia inundate homes and businesses

Flash floods in West Virginia caused by torrential rains inundated homes and businesses, led to water rescues, and prompted the deployment of 300 National Guard members. Governor Patrick Morrisey declared a state of emergency for all 55 counties, and emergency crews conducted dozens of rescues as floodwaters damaged infrastructure and disrupted travel.
