Mamdani says NYC can’t arrest Netanyahu but the federal government should
New York Mayor Zohran Mamdani stated the city cannot enforce an International Criminal Court arrest warrant for Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu but urged the federal government to act. Mamdani called Netanyahu a 'war criminal' and said he is unwelcome in New York City. The ICC issued warrants in 2024 for Netanyahu and others over alleged crimes in Gaza, which Israeli officials deny.
