Progressive wave crashes in Sun Belt battleground as moderate holds his seat
Incumbent Rep. Greg Stanton defeated progressive challenger Kai Newkirk in Arizona's 4th Congressional District primary. Newkirk criticized Stanton for his pro-business and pro-Israel positions, including voting to send aid to Israel and supporting the Laken Riley Act. Stanton, part of the New Democrat Coalition, is a member of AIPAC and faces a general election where he is favored to win a fifth term.
