Punjab leads tally for cases involving threats to journalists

Punjab reported 15 out of 22 documented threats against journalists between April and June 2026, with state institutions identified as the primary threat in 68% of cases. The Freedom Network review highlighted a 22% increase in threats compared to the first quarter, particularly targeting journalists covering governance, corruption, and public interest issues.
