Spanish hotel chain Meliá is closing all operations in Cuba due to U.S. sanctions causing legal, economic, and financial challenges. The decision follows U.S. sanctions targeting Cuba’s Ministry of Tourism and GAESA, a military-business conglomerate, which had already forced Meliá to suspend management of 15 hotels.
