Canada cancels joint bridge-opening event with US after Trump announces tariffs

Canada has canceled a joint U.S.-Canada ceremony for the opening of the Gordie Howe International Bridge after President Donald Trump announced a 50% tariff on most Canadian goods. The bridge, connecting Detroit and Windsor, Ontario, was expected to open to traffic on July 27, but the U.S. ceremony is now uncertain. Canada plans to hold its own event instead.
