France adopts bill to ban kids under 15 from using social media
French lawmakers approved a bill banning children under 15 from using social media, making France the first EU country to implement such a measure. The legislation, part of President Emmanuel Macron’s second-term agenda, also prohibits mobile phones in high schools and follows concerns over harmful content linked to teen suicides and mental health issues.
