Chad will abolish entry visas for all African nationals starting 1 January 2027. President Mahamat Idriss Déby Itno announced the policy on 15 July 2026 at the African Water Forum in N’Djamena. The decision coincided with a call for funding a National Water Pact worth USD 3.8 million.
