Saudi Arabia bucks Gulf trend on foreign buying
Overseas investors added $1.6 billion to Saudi Arabia’s stock exchange in Q2 2026, the only Gulf market with increased net foreign buying. The rise followed Saudi Arabia’s market opening to all overseas investors in February 2026, boosting foreign buying by 75% year-on-year. The Tadawul’s prospects may improve further if foreign ownership limits are lifted from 49%.
