Recall alert: 288K Ford Explorers recalled; roof rail cover can come off

Ford is recalling 288,314 Explorers from 2016 to 2019 model years due to a roof rail cover defect that could cause it to come loose. The National Highway Traffic Safety Administration announced the recall, with dealers to inspect and repair affected vehicles. Owners will be notified by mail starting August 24, with repairs available in September.
