Pilot project aimed at removing & studying Lake St. Clair muck to begin this fall

A three-year pilot project to remove algae muck (Microseira wollei) from Lake St. Clair in Macomb County begins this fall, targeting three shoreline areas. The project, funded by an $800,000 state earmark, aims to study the muck's growth patterns and develop long-term management strategies.
