Cyprus marks 52 years since invasion as UN renews peace push
Cyprus commemorated the 52-year anniversary of Turkey's 1974 invasion as the United Nations seeks to revive stalled peace talks between Greek and Turkish Cypriot communities. Air raid sirens were sounded in southern Greek Cypriot government-controlled areas to mark the hour Turkish forces landed in 1974.
