Beijing steps in to stem China’s stock market decline with US$8.9b in state purchases
Two state-backed firms in China, China Reform Holdings and China Chengtong Holdings Group, spent a total of 60 billion yuan (approximately $8.86 billion) to purchase mainland-listed stocks as part of government intervention to stabilize the declining stock market.
