Using AI makes people less likely to admit they don't know something

A study by academics from French and Italian universities found that access to AI advice reduces people's willingness to admit ignorance and decreases accuracy, even when AI provides incorrect answers. Participants relying on AI advice were significantly less likely to say 'I don't know' and more confident in wrong answers compared to those without AI assistance.
