Security forces in Pakistan destroyed an explosive-laden vehicle intended for a suicide attack in Wana, Lower South Waziristan, killing one terrorist and injuring five others. Interior Minister Mohsin Naqvi praised the operation for preventing potential civilian casualties. Previous attacks in the region, including a foiled suicide attempt targeting a military post, were also reported.
