Immigrants, DHS agents and traffic stops: Violent outcomes repeat across the US

U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) agents have killed 22 people during President Donald Trump's second term, with 19 incidents occurring during traffic stops. The most recent fatality was 25-year-old Johan Sebastián Durán Guerrero, a legal immigrant in Maine, prompting a temporary pause in traffic stop enforcement that Trump reversed. Congressional Republicans allocated $175 billion for immigration enforcement, and the ACLU reported 432 incidents of force or threats by agents across eight states.
