Venezuela quake death toll tops 5,000 as IMF releases recovery funds

More than 5,000 people were killed in twin earthquakes that struck Venezuela on June 24, with the coastal state of La Guaira being severely affected. The country will use $346 million from the International Monetary Fund (IMF) for reconstruction efforts.
