Air quality concerns continue before chances for severe weather move into Metro Detroit this weekend

Air quality in Metro Detroit remains hazardous due to Canadian wildfire smoke, with temperatures in the upper 80s to near 90° through Friday. Severe thunderstorms are expected to move into the region by late Friday night into Saturday, followed by drier conditions by Sunday. Highs will cool to the middle 80s over the weekend before a drop to the upper 70s by next week.
