Change of plans for high-profile SouthPark site
Mid-America Apartment Communities is seeking to rezone 3.7 acres at Phillips Place in SouthPark from mixed-use to regional activity center to build a 275-unit apartment complex with commercial space. The project would replace the former Regal Cinemas site, which was demolished in 2022. Lincoln Property Co., the original developer of Phillips Place, had previously planned an office tower and hotel for the location.
