Swalwell campaigns drop eye-popping cash to celeb defense attorney weeks after resigning
Eric Swalwell paid over $360,000 to celebrity lawyer Sara Azari from his campaign accounts weeks after resigning from Congress and dropping out of the gubernatorial race. Payments included $50K for 'Legal [and] Accounting Services' 11 days post-resignation and $250K for 'campaign legal compliance' in May. Azari defended Swalwell amid allegations of sexual misconduct, denying claims and calling them a 'ruthless attempt' to smear him.
