[US] supposedly amazon took money but I haven’t purchased anything recently, is this a scam?

A Reddit user suspects a scam after a $1.81 charge from Amazon appeared on their bank statement, despite not purchasing anything recently. They are part of an Amazon family account without paying for Prime and recently created a new account with bank information added.
