Newborn found dead in dumpster on Detroit’s east side, mother accused of concealing his death
A Detroit mother, Daysiana Lachell Powell, is accused of concealing the death of her newborn son after the child was found dead in a dumpster on July 8. She was charged with concealing the death, arrested on July 10, and given a $50,000 personal bond after arraignment on July 12. She faces up to five years in prison and is scheduled to return to court on July 21.
