T. rex skeleton fetches record $50.1 mn at US auction

A Tyrannosaurus rex skeleton nicknamed 'Gus' sold for $50.1 million at Sotheby's in New York, becoming the most valuable dinosaur fossil auctioned after a 10-minute bidding war between seven participants. The skeleton, with 183 fossilized bones, was discovered on a South Dakota cattle ranch in 2021.
