EU will exclude fighting-age men from Ukraine refugee scheme
The EU has extended temporary protection for Ukrainian refugees until 2028 but excluded men who could be called to military service. Existing beneficiaries remain unaffected, while new applicants must satisfy their military obligations in Ukraine. Ukraine's martial law prohibits men aged 25-60 from leaving without exemptions.
