Guyana Granted Uranium Rights in 2024. The Country Found Out in 2026.
Guyana was granted uranium exploration rights in 2024 for the Kurupung project in Region Seven, which contains an estimated 20.6 million pounds of uranium. Canada’s U92 Energy Corp, established in 2024, acquired control by purchasing a Singaporean company. Exclusive prospecting licenses were issued in April 2024, but the public learned of the project in 2026.
