PM directs NDMA to strengthen coordination with provinces during monsoon rains
Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif directed the National Disaster Management Authority (NDMA) to enhance coordination with provinces and Provincial Disaster Management Authorities (PDMAs) during the monsoon rains. The PM emphasized improving emergency preparedness, operationalizing an early warning system, and cooperating with the Ministry of Climate Change. The Pakistan Meteorological Department predicts near-normal rainfall in Gilgit-Baltistan, Azad Jammu and Kashmir, and upper Khyber Pakhtunkhwa during the 2026 monsoon season.
