Singapore court orders Bloomberg to pay ministers $356,000 in defamation case
A Singapore high court ordered Bloomberg News and reporter Low De Wei to pay S$460,000 in damages after an article was found to have defamed two government ministers. The judgment included S$170,000 in general damages and S$60,000 in aggravated damages per minister. Bloomberg’s editor-in-chief defended the reporting, stating the ministers imposed a 'strained meaning' on the story.
