Health regulator flags fake bottles of Gran Centenario tequila following deadly poisonings
The Federal Commission for the Protection against Sanitary Risks (Cofepris) warned about counterfeit and adulterated Gran Centenario Anejo tequila linked to five deaths and 28 illnesses following a 15th birthday party in Salamanca, Guanajuato. The affected product, with batch number L 061 24, was sold at the Central de Abastos market in León and online, prompting a public health alert due to unspecified harmful ingredients.
